Karen, Jim’s current girlfriend, showed up in the third season, would be Tim’s <strike>Stacey</strike> Rachel. it’s interesting that both actively pursued their boys, and got them… but for how long?

<strike>Stacey</strike> Rachel lasted 6 episodes, and Karen’s got 12 episodes to this post date. <strike>Stacey</strike> Rachel could dance, and Jim seemed pretty impressed that Karen could speak French.

Karen confronted Jim straight up about his feelings for Pam, and was pretty calm about it. We saw <strike>Stacey</strike> Rachel crying, but it’s unclear what Tim said exactly to her. Karen was suckered into moving into Scranton though, but since <strike>Stacey</strike> Rachel was repeatedly hit on by Gareth, I think Karen’s still better off.

[EDIT: i confused the actress Stacey Roca’s name with the character who is actually named RACHEL. all changed!]

one thing that always bugs me is that the american version doesn’t really address the whole microphone thing. do the “cast” members just leave their mikes on all the time, even when they walk over to the parking lot? leave work? all that, yadda yadda yadda.
