one of my other favorite shows from the United Kingdom is the IT Crowd, will be made into a pilot for NBC.  Interestingly, Richard Ayoade who played Moss on the original, will also be playing Moss in the new version.

Read the TV Squad post about it!

but not really. ken jennings has posted on his blog why he likes the british version of the office better than the american one — i completely agree with his points. as much as i love the folks over at the tvsquad.com, i guess i too obsessive to get on board with what bob sassone said over there.

one thing that always bugs me is that the american version doesn’t really address the whole microphone thing. do the “cast” members just leave their mikes on all the time, even when they walk over to the parking lot? leave work? all that, yadda yadda yadda.

i just read that one of my favorite movie/tv people, Joss Whedon (Buffy, Firefly, all around cool geek) is going to direct an episode of The Office.

Meanwhile, check out the official site for their awards seasons nominations, deleted scenes (seriously, how do they decide what to cut?) and Dwight’s 2007 New Year’s Resolutions.

New episode this Thursday, 1/11! Since the staff is going out in the field for sales calls, i wonder how they’ll stay authentic to documentary-style filming in the car.

here’s a great article on Slate by Liesl Schillinger, where it talks a little more about the French and German versions of The Office, and not just the American and BBC versions. I haven’t been able to review these episodes because a) i don’t know how to get the episodes, and b) i don’t speak French and my German is at the level of a 1st grader.

Better yet, there are clips of the shows from each country! [LINK]
