another remake on the slate

one of my other favorite shows from the United Kingdom is the IT Crowd, will be made into a pilot for NBC.  Interestingly, Richard Ayoade who played Moss on the original, will also be playing Moss in the new version.

Read the TV Squad post about it!

karen and rachel (not stacey)
January 29th, 2007 under tim, jim, karen, rachel. [ Comments: 9 ]

Karen, Jim’s current girlfriend, showed up in the third season, would be Tim’s Stacey Rachel. it’s interesting that both actively pursued their boys, and got them… but for how long?

Stacey Rachel lasted 6 episodes, and Karen’s got 12 episodes to this post date. Stacey Rachel could dance, and Jim seemed pretty impressed that Karen could speak French.

Karen confronted Jim straight up about his feelings for Pam, and was pretty calm about it. We saw Stacey Rachel crying, but it’s unclear what Tim said exactly to her. Karen was suckered into moving into Scranton though, but since Stacey Rachel was repeatedly hit on by Gareth, I think Karen’s still better off.

[EDIT: i confused the actress Stacey Roca’s name with the character who is actually named RACHEL. all changed!]

i’m not sure if because it’s the american one i notice when they mention great americans in on the show, but this week’s is called “Ben Franklin”:

A WEDDING SHOWER FOR PHYLLIS- Acting on bad advice from his friend Todd Packer (David Koechner), Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) brings two “adult” performers into the office - a stripper and Ben Franklin - in honor of Phyllis’s (Phyllis Smith) wedding shower. Meanwhile Karen (Rashida Jones) confronts Pam (Jenna Fischer) about her past with Jim (John Krasinski). Rainn Wilson, B.J. Novak, Melora Hardin, David Denman, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Paul Lieberstein, and Mindy Kaling also star.

Stumbled upon this cool site that’ll be useful if you’re a fan of both shows:

jell-o-y maniacs
January 23rd, 2007 under people, tim, jim, language. [ Comments: 452 ]

in the first episode we see tim and jim both innocently eating a gelatin snack:

Tim with Jelly Jim with Jell-O
it’s cute to see them eat their respective sugary snacks. i’ve never seen gelatin come in a box though, so that’s pretty cool. looks more solid.
fun fact: Americans would call “Jell-O” (by the popular brand name), and the British call it “jelly”.

I forgot I did this awhile ago, but the distance between Scranton, Pennsylvia and Slough, England is approximately 4,000 miles or 7,400 kilometers. Does anyone have the exact amount?
