Welcome to The Office vs. The Office, the website dedicated to comparing and contrasting the original BBC version with the NBC version of the television shows 'The Office.'
BEWARE: This site contains spoilers. Plus, you probably won't get half the stuff we talk about if you haven't seen the show(s). Moral of the story? Watch the 'The Office'!
The American show has really moved on, but I liked that there are some recalls back to the British, intentional or unintentional. One of the brain teasers Dwight asks Ryan (clip below) is just the one David Brent is asking Gareth and Tim, before Dawn comes in with the Big Kiss at the end of the series.
Great Article
from Slate

There's a great article on Slate by Liesl Schillinger,
where it talks a little more about the French and German versions
of The Office, and not just the American and BBC versions.
I haven't been able to review these episodes because a) i don't
know how to get the episodes, and b) i don't speak French and my
German is at the level of a 1st grader.
Better yet, there are clips of the shows from each country! [LINK]

Nope, British cast members will not be appearing on the American 'The Office',
boo. Straight from Ricky Gervais' mouth, read
his answer to TV Guide's Ask Auseillo (you'll have to scroll
a bit -- it's at the center of the page).
I'm to disappointed to write anything else. [LINK]

TV Squad is reporting that the British cast of 'The
Office' will be appearing as the original characters on the American
version -- yay! American executive producer Ben Silverman confirmed
that Mackenzie Crook (Gareth <Dwight>), Martin Freeman (Tim
<Jim>) and Lucy Davis (Dawn <Pam>) will be appearing
on the shownext season.
Watch this really great video user absnow54
has posted on YouTube dedicated to Jim and Tim (I couldn't have done
it any better!) and visit the Jim/Tim
page.
Site Update
Your guess is as
good as mine
Thanks
for visiting the site. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of moving
apartments and I don't want to put up the pretense of updating this
more often than I can -- especially with uncertain internet connection
(makes running a web site very difficult). Check out articles (over
there! -->) that have already been posted =D
Thanks to everyone who offered to help with the site! Please contact
me at webmaster[at]theofficevstheoffice[dot]com if I haven't
gotten back to you.
Check out Life
in the Office for updates -- Brian there is always very up to
speed.

EPISODE COMPARISON: side-by-side, cross-comparison and contrasting of the episodes. OFFICE BATTLE:
• David Brent vs. Michael Scott
• Gareth Keenan vs. Dwight Schrute
• Tim Canterbury vs. Jim Halpert
• Dawn vs. Pam LANGUAGE & SLANG:
Goodness, British people use funny words like "wank" and Americans sound like all-around idiots! What the hell are they saying? WHAT WOULD HAPPEN... If the two offices merged?
WHERE TO GO: Maps of both offices, so you don't get lost. Even though they're not real places.
QUOTE CHALLENGE: As obssessive-compulsive as we are? See if you can figure out which show, which episode, and which character said what.
We are in no way affiliated with NBC, BBC, or any of the fine actors, actresses, writing and production team of the two "The Office" shows. This site is strictly a fansite and nothing monetary is gained. Nothing at all. We are poor.
